heading out on a long trip next week, and have a leaky front fork seal.  How hard are they to replace?  Don't have a lot of time, should I just go and replace when I get back?  That is the question.

I ran a leaky one for 20,000 miles. Took several hours to change one. It's probably something stuck in the seal. Take some old 35mm film, slip it up in there under the seal and move it around the fork. That fixes most of them.

Thanks Valker.  Last fall, I wrapped a shop rag around the bottom of the fork to get it to stop contaminating the front wheel rim, so it looks like it is part of a gang...  Anyway, I will try the 35 mm film trick, now where are those old negatives?

LOL I did the red rag thing too ...for two years!  I thought it would eventually run out of oil, but I started calling it the Exxon Valdez.
