Getting ready to perform the nut-cage mod and can't seem to get the allen head bolt out (the one top center of the fender).  Stripped the allen head out and then tried to turn it into a flat head screw top but still can't seem to get it to budge....any suggestions?

Not sure which one you mean. I just reached under the fender to cut mine.

Yeah I have everything apart to that point just wanted to remove the whole bottom part of the fender and there are three bolts that hold it into place.  The two on the side and then there is a small allen head bolt that screws into a welded nut that is on the top underside of teh bottom part of the fender which helps to hold the two fender pieces together.  Still trying .....

Good news is I got the bolt out........  Bad news is I now need a new bolt.  Call me a doubting Thomas but I cant see how just removing the nutcage is going to provide enough room to make a difference.....  I will complete the mod purchase a tire and give it a whirl.......

Thanks, now just deciding what tire to get leaning towards on in the 205/65-16 range as it drops the rps (or so is stated), what about h or v rating?  I have e rated on my truck for sidewall strength for towing and off-road driving.  I assume this is some sort of speed rating??

The letters are speed ratings. Check out: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/tire-speed-rating-codes.html for specifics.

Hi,

Macdogg, before you put everything back together double check the nut under that nut cage.
I put on a car tire. Drove it and had some rubbing. It turned out to be the huge sq nut.
What you can do is leave the shocks unattached, push the wheel up as far as it'll go. Turn the tire and double check for rubbing.
I took the bolt and sq nut out put in a 5/16 stainless steel carriage bolt and (acorn nut for show). I machined off the sq under the head of the carriage bolt.
