Where is the best place to buy the CT on line? Seems like the shops around here are a bit high.

I like tirerack.com, but there are many other choices. You might be able to get a local shop to match a price you find online as well.

I would just google the tire size and brand. Amazon may well list by price. Be aware of the shipping charges. They can be free, or quite large.

Hi,
A day late and dollar short but I got mine from the tire rack. I believe it to have been around the $90 range shipping included. If I have this bike long enough to go through a car tire I will go with the 65 series next time. This was the first "motorcycle" tire I had ever mounted. Used Dyna beads for balancing. Good luck.

Have tire mounted and on bike, but while the weather is crappy and the bike is this open, guess I will get it all polished up while I have access to the areas usually covered by the saddle bags.... Will report as soon as I get a chance to ride.... Hopefully tomorrow.

"crappy weather", that is sure a common sentiment this summer! Same here. Rain, wind, cold.

So took the ol girl on her maiden DS ride, and here are my first impressions. Much more noticeable at low speeds as well as when riding solo, was a bit worried about putting the wife on 2up but bike seemed to perform much better with the added weight in the rear, but to be fair I have not messed with the air pressure (not even sure what it is) and have only put 50 or so miles on it. As has been stated it takes a bit more effort to lean it over as well as it seems to like to up right it's self. Guess with the warmer weather predicted for next week might have to take a day off work and put some real miles on it.

I have found that it does take more to lean into the corner, lot more effort to counter-steer. I keep my pressure at 32 lbs for both solo and two up. It'll take several hunderd miles before the tire is broke in, so give it some time.

I ran 36 psi all of last year and 34 now. I have about 9,000 miles on the car tire since last September and don't notice any problems now. I can do full-lock turn arounds at low speed (obviously) and can drag my floor boards in corners.

I feel it only fair to give it a good while to be true to the test. My assumption is/was that it will "break in" after a bit of riding. I notice the difference less with more speed and even less with more speed and two-up. I will check the pressure prior to my next ride and see where the pressure is and adjust to hit that low 30's area. I just want to say thanks to everyone for all the help it made the switch over easy as well as changing the u-joint out. Now if this blasted rain will just go away, my wife is dying to go for a ride.

Try air pressure from 40 down to 28#. I run 28# solo, and so does Valker. Some like it all the way up to 40. All are OK as far as the tire is concerned.

Thanks for the advice and starting points I think I will drop to mid 20's to start and work up from there. Now if I can just get my work schedule and the rain schedule coordinated so I can have days off with sunshine.
