I may as well add my 2 bits-my '99 IS gets a pretty steady 33-34 MPG, I got it with 3300 miles and it's at about 6000 now. I keep trying to ride slow and steady to see if I can get some better mileage but I JUST CAN'T DO IT!

Just knowing that all I have to do is twist the grip a little, and away she goes....

I check my mileage on every tank and rarely vary from 33 mpg. I guess if you want a ride with 100 horsepower, there is a price to pay.

texasjeff, WATCH out for those DEER around your lake. I have been in and around that lake and the deer pop is or was GREAT.
Keep the sunny side up.

...can be a problem around here! Most trips to Sattler, a mere 10 miles from here, show fresh road kill.  There's a lot of deer, they're inbred and skittish (silly?) and a lot of the more foolish ones get taken out of the gene pool daily.

The south side of the lake is lousy with 'em, but this side is merely overrun.

found that if I run over 3000 rpm my mpg drops quite a bit. Running at 4000+ rpm realy cuts the mpg.At 4500rpm I'm cruising at about 95 mph. My normal driving habits 70 - 80 mph on the highway and 35 -50 in town, somewhat aggressive riding. I'm hittin' the reserve at 130 miles. I have babied this scoot and still had to hit reserve at 130 miles. Who cares--- I love this scoot best damn motor scooter made in my book.KEEP ON TRUCKIN"
