Does anyone have a suggestion for a larger capacity fuel tank?  I have a 2001 Standard, and would like to go about 200 miles without a fill if possible...

Thanks,

Replacing the standard tank with an Interstate tank will give you close to 200 miles per tank, including reserve. That's the most common approach. You can purchase a new tank from a dealer (around $1000, I believe,) or purchase one from a motorcycle salvage dealer or from E-bay. (There are at least 2 for sale on E-bay at the moment.)  They usually go for around $400-$500 used.

There are other more expensive options in the form of special built or stretched tanks. Don't have the details at hand, but if you check the VRCC board, you should be able to do a search and locate information about those approaches.

no electrical tools when you are replacing the tank, no matter how long that tank has been sitting there empty.  Sparks and gasoline are not a good combination.
