My green and black 98 tourer has the cobra six over six exhausts.sounds like nascar when you rev it up.I like them, but they are the only thing that isnt bone stockon my bike.I have the originakl seat even.Is there stock exhauts here or somewhere i could buy?Plus, it is likely the guy that put on the cobras did a rejet to suit those pipes and dont know if i couldever get the stock jets and settings done to make the bike run right. It runs perfectly right now.My bike only has 26,000 miles on it.I love it.

Watch on ebay.  They come up fairly frequently.

Check "Pinwall Cycle"-they have an ebay store that shows everything they have available-lotsa, lotsa Valk stuff.
Since your bike runs so well, it seems likely that it was re-jetted for the 6X6 pipes.
I hope someone will chime in with advice on the need to return to stock jets. I kinda think you should.

My valk also has the Cobra 6into6 exhaust. Runs fine except for a decel popping, but richen the fuel mixture a little and a desmog pretty well took care of that. My question is what air filter are you using? If it's a stock filter, I bet you can go back to stock pipes. You may need to lean out the fuel mixture a touch too. Put the stock pipes back on and see what happens, sure beats pulling a carb bank to check if the jets are stock. How's the gas mileage?

I had Cobras on the '98 that I sold and it got 25-30 mpg.  My '97 which is bone stock averages about 38 mpg up to 41 mpg.  Don't miss the Cobras.

34 is normal. The higher claims are not necessarily correct.
Two 98 Valks, std and tourer, typical mpg was 28-36. Don't worry about 34.
Drive like an old lady and get much higher. Drive to feel and enjoy your Valk, get what you are getting now.
Want better mileage? Try a moped.

What's "normal"? Your normal could be way different than mine! What do you mean by incorrect? I can do the math, after 160 miles and 4 gallons of gas equals 40 mpg where I come from. That mileage is typical on my bike running between 60 and 65 mph, the speed limit. It's normally what I do and it is correct.  Azn

hey, calm down
don't take things personal, my post actually had nothing to do with you.
I was trying to reassure the guy that 34 mpg or so does not mean there is anything wrong with his bike.
I said higher claims may not always be correct because some folks exaggerate. I did not mean you, as I do not even know you.
No need to be defensive./

Keep in mind also that the Interstate gets better mileage than the Standard or Tourer, so if you're comparing your mileage to an IS, it might look worse than it actually is.

I love these types of threads because most folks think I exaggerate my mileage, but not the one who know me and/or ride with me. My average is about 32mpg, but I ride at an indicated 82 most of the time. Slow meandering through the Rockies nets me high 40s and twice has gotten me 53 mpg. If you think those are lies, keep it to yourself. These figures are taken from my limited experience on this Valkyrie.

Nobody  (at least not me) called anyone a liar.
I said, and I repeat, some people exaggerate. period. Good for you, if you don't.
Seems like some folks are too quick to jump on others. Must be the time change.

I'm saying what you get is what you say.  I can do the 40gpm on two lane blacktop, kinda jealous of the 53 though.  I have very seldom seen less than 30.  I'm not always in a hurry, however. I'm not buying your "limited experience", though.  I've seen your odometer!  Smiley hoser

Valker you must have gotten some of those secret carburators that where never suposed to leave the lab. If Exxon/Mobil finds out, you wight come out and find some empty space between the tank and the heads.   Grin
