Hi All,
While thumbing through my Honda manual I looked over the wireing diagram and noticed that the Valk has an "accesory terminal"

Haven't seen it though( while working under the seat).  Do you kknow where it is??? huh

It'll be buried somewhere under that mess of a wiring harness. There is a male and female plug inside a black boot. On my IS it took me at least two hours to find it and fish it out from beneath everything else. On my Standard it was pretty easy to find and use.

Lew,

Look first behind the left side battery cover.  It should be a sleeve with no particular destination.

There's a picture if you scroll down on this:

I thought it was under the right sidecover, but I've been wrong before.

I installed a cigarette lighter type receptacle on a bolt on the left side of the engine up tight under the tank.  I've used it to charge my cell phone while on trips.

I also have a cheap non weather resistant GPS that I plug into the receptacle. I run the wire up into my jacket where the gps is in my pocket.  It's not very good at giving me realtime turn by turn instructions, but a quick stop and it tells me where I'm at.  It is just one step above a paper map.

I wired mine to an accessory panel with a relay. I have my cruise control, heated jacket, gps, 12v outlet, horns, and some other items hooked up to it. It's very handy when you need a ground or 12v line for something.

it's only rated for 5A....best to use as a trigger for a relay otherwise you may burn out the wiring.  Would probably be ok for a power source for a GPS or similar, but be very careful.  Not rated for things like heated grips, driving lights, etc.

I didn't think there could be much amp. draw by the size of the wires. a relay is the only way to go.

+1 on the relay.  Hook it to an accessory board with fuses. That way, whenever you want to add accessories in the future, you can just hook to the board, and all is well.

+2 on the relay. Plenty of room in there for one and it sure comes in handy when you hook up other fraggles.

Did you ever find an accessory terminal?  I am trying to find out if there is a plug-in for a standard wiring harness to connect with wiring on a pull-behind trailer.

The acc. terminal is there.  However, there is NO plug in to connect to a trailer.  In fact, most trailers will need an adapter, as they use the turn signals to turn on the brake lights, but our Valks use seperate wires for those functions, so you need an adapter to make that work.
