I have searched the tech forums here and at VRCC. Is there anything special about installing them? I forgot to ask Daryl the other day and I know he is busy making some triple tree's. I want to do it tonight before PDC. Anything I should watch for, they do look straight forward. TIA

Not even sure what those are, but I've probably replaced mine. Clarify it for me, please.

I'm guessing you're talking about the shock bushings. If so, they're not terrible to put in. I put a little grease around mine when I did them, but used OEM bushings.

Sorry for the vauge request. Yes I was refering to the shock bushings. I bought a couple of sets from XF6. These are touted as lifetime bushings and are 2 pieces per side. Just didn't know if there was anything I should look out for.I'm going to put on the lift and take a close look before I pull anything off. One side at a time I'm sure. I hate to admit this but the Valk will be my first crack at doing all my own service.

No need to put it on a lift for that. I changed mine on the side stand. Just did one side at a time.

I have a '99 I/S , the bags have to come off as well as does part of the saddlebag rails. If I dont put it up in the air aren't the shocks sprung under weight? Just dont want to cause a bigger problem before the PDC ride.I guess this info would have been helpful in my initial post, sorry.

I lifted my cycle since I was doing the final drive maintenance at the same time. It was an easy job that way, but I haven't tried it Valker's way. Looking forward to meeting you in PDC!

Try it w/o lifting (still just one side at a time.)  If it turns out it had some compression and you can't get it back on, then lift the bike to the point where you can slide the shock on.

Decided to lift the bike and it all went pretty good. Thanks.
