Well, I flew to Denver and purchased a 1999 Valkyrie Tourer.  I knew it needed tires before I made the long trip back to TN so I made an appointment with Fay Myers Honda in Denver for new tires and installation.  I arrived at the dealer at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, 9/20.  They immediately put the bike in the shop and started on the tires.  They then pointed out that I had a right front fork leaking.  Very slight oil coat on it so I said go ahead and repair it.  Didn't want something to happen on the way home.  Late that afternoon the fork seals and tires had been replaced and I got another message.  The petcock was leaking gas into the engine.  You guessed it, they didn't have those parts so they ordered them the next day (it was already 5 pm) to arrive at 11 a.m. Thursday morning.  They received the parts and I was out of the dealer at 12 noon Thursday.  Next was 1350 miles to my house.  That was after fog and rain the morning Sat. morning.

By the way, I highly recommend Fay Myers Honda Dealer if you ever need assistance in the Denver area.  They are very professional and customer oriented.  I couldn't have been at a better place on the road.

I have a little tweaking to do and a few things to add and adjust but I sure do like it.  Engine ran like a champ all the way in.  Now I've got to take a picture of her and see if I can remember how to post it.  The other Val I called The Lady.  I think I'll add a bit of Southern flare to this one and call her "Sweet Thang".

Still working with the insurance company on the wrecked one.

Hope this finds you all well and ready for some Fall riding.

Glad you found another one so soon and got back home safe thanks to a Honda dealer not willing to rob you of your money.  Pays to shop around where I live since most Honda dealers are very pricey, 2 in particular I would not go since they are twice the price of anywhere else.

Congrats!  Glad you made it home safe and sound, and found a good dealer in the process.

By the way,

Yeah, I know.  I will be taking pics in a few days.  Want to service her and clean her up.  Don't want folks talking about me with a dirty lady.

Glad you got back okay and didn't have any issues after getting on the road. Enjoy your new cycle and watch out for those cagers!

I do a good job of detailing.  In fact, my wife says that if I would dust and care for the furniture the way I do the bike it would take a load off her.  I told her if the furniture would haul my carcass around the country in style I might give it a try.  Then I ate sandwiches for a day or two.  Sometimes you just have to pay the price.

By the way, I do cook, wash dishes, do laundry, vacuum, mop floors, dust, fold clothes, sew on buttons, etc.  Since my mother and father both worked, mom taught my brother and I to do a lot of house chores.  It paid off when I went to college and during boot camp.  I didn't have to immediately learn to take care of myself.  No, I'm not bragging and to put your minds at ease, I'm not for hire either.  I didn't say that I like doing these things, but I can and do, especially now that the wife has been under the weather for a year plus.  I do hate gardening and can't convince my wife to quit buying plants.

And I love my Sweet Thang.  And the weather is great here in East TN for riding the roads.

We're getting cool and rainy.  I think I'm jealous.  Sad
