Lots of folks have said that first puddle is an indication. I have zero experience with that. There are several on eBay cheaper than new. I was thinking of getting one to have as a spare.

Some have had success giving the coolant hose clamps a good snugging up, that is if its coming from above and dribbling down that far to your pump.  I had a periodic drip of coolant from under the pump about a year after I purchased my bike new.  It was dripping out the weep hole in the bottom of the pump.  If the seal around the pump's shaft starts to go bad and allow coolant past, it will drip out this weep hole.  Only fix was to replace the water pump.  Hope its less serious for you...   huh

+1.  Tighten all clamps first.  Then, if truly coming out the weep hole, the pump is failing, as Cholla says above.  The weep hole lets out seeping fluid.

Also had a bit of of a leak but it turned out to be the thermostat housing gasket. Had to remove the radiator to get to it but a new gasket stopped the leak. Check it out before you buy a pump that you might not need.
