1999 Valyrie Reverse Trike

« on: October 04, 2011, 09:18:27 AM »

Yesterday was a typical Monday off for me. Big plans were to play golf, geocache or go for a scenic ride down to La Crescent.

I thought with the temps approaching the mid 70’s I should opt for a scenic and check out the fall colors by the river. Time is running short for riding.
First stop was a nearby gas station to fill the V3. As usual a guy nearby walks over and wants to know how it handles, what kind of engine is that and does it lean?
We converse for a while and then off I go.
Next stop was some photo opportunities. And again a couple fellow motorcyclists want to know how it handles, does it lean, and what I used for parts etc? Again we shook hands did some intros and spent 10min or so in general chatter.
Down in La Crescent I took a right on Hwy25 and this red car pulls next to me. The guy driving asked if I would pull over so he could take a picture of my bike?
I said sure and pulled off to the side of the road. The guy was my age (60) and has a 2000 interstate which is triked. He asked all the normal questions and took several pictures and again we stood there just comparing notes and talking about Valkyries.  Even his wife chimed in with a few stories. He asked how many miles and I said about 121k to which he was flabbergasted, he said he had about 6500 on his.
They were from Iowa just doing a scenic much like by but sadly in the car not on motorcycle. Very nice couple indeed.

Last stop for the day was Cannon Falls for gas. Here I had three different groups express greetings and questions. Two were riders one was in a ford truck.

All in all I think I wallowed around 45 minutes between 20 people or so in common friendly conversation.

I guess Father Honda was right all along – You do meet the nicest people on a Honda. Smiley
