I've been thinking of buying an XXL sized cycle Joe Rocket brand jacket or something like that used but like new condition on craigslist for around 75 bucks or so with pads in the right places after seeing your bike damage and helmet.  I never go out of town without wearing a helmet that is a given, but something more than a t-shirt might come in handy if and when I will ever need it most likely thru someone else not paying attention and hitting me.  Glad you are on the mend even though it sounds like a very slow process.  As we all age, I sure know my older bones don't heel up as quickly as when I was 1/2 my age.
