Nice bike, great price, too bad you bought a slow one! (lol)

Welcome, Jim

When you get a chance put your location in your signature, there may be someone close by to hook up with for some riding.

Just picked up a 2000 Valkyrie w/ 42K miles for $3999 from a dealership.  I am hooked!!

I've been riding a Shadow 750 for 4 years now (put 40k miles on that one) and it was time to get a big boy bike.....

Looking forward to piling the miles.

That's an awesome deal for such a nice looking bike.  I'll echo what some others have said here in that a Valkyrie is certainly one of the very best values in a power cruiser.  Had a dealer tell me a couple of months ago that he has seen several Valks with 300k miles or greater, and that the Valk should run 1,000,000 miles if maintained properly.  An inexpensive bike that has a low center-of-gravity which lends itself to great handling, it looks GREAT, is extremely powerful, and is a super high-quality machine which has earned the respect of bikers (including Harley guys) all over the world.  What more could you ask for?  And for $4k! Wow!  Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised to see Valk values increasing over the next few years.  The reason I say that is because the bike is SUCH a good bike that it's easily worth more than $4k-5k.  Go find another bike which offers all the attributes of a Valkyrie for that kind of money.  You just can't do it and I don't care what the bike is or how new/old it is.  JQ

I was approached by a guy this past week who asked if I was selling it.  He offered me $6K for it.

Hi Pay,
Good looker----- I have a 98 Tourer ( Black and de-badged)  You just can't beat the Valk.  The weather here has been very mild and I just may take it out of "winter" storage.  This is a GREAT forum for all your question and mods.

I have mine stored in the trailer but sure could have ridden all winter so far - we did get 2 inches of snow today which will be gone by tomorrow - 50 degrees predicted for most of MN tomorrow.

I think I paid $8500 for my last standard which was a 97 and that was in 2008 - $3200 for my 99 interstate which was a total so $6000 is really dirt cheap for a fine machine like the valk.
Especially when you compare it to the Vtwins and others out there that don't have the looks, performance or ride this fine machine does.

Plus you meet the nicest people on a Valkyrie  Smiley

One should never store thier bike so well that it's too much trouble to get it out for a nice day.  Words to the wise.   Grin  Hoser

Until re-grade my driveway or more importantly cut down the evergreens that line it, even a winter this mellow prevents keeps me from ice dancing my way out to the street.  Probably "invest" in an enduro before the driveway changes though.

I feel your pain, my driveway is on the north side of the house, it is the last thing to melt.   shocked Hoser

Sometimes in the winter when the sun is shining and the roads are dry,  Iv'e had to lay down a ten foot carpet runner to get over the ice that is ever present on the shaded part of my drive, (where the shade is on my avatar is always ice) Hope to get in a little ride this afternoon. Hope every one has a great new year !!!
