This Valk is on Ebay for sale at a Honda dealer in Maryville, OH. It is listed as having 26xxx miles on it. That is what is showing on the odometer but I sold this bike a couple of years ago with over 100K on it. It looks great and it ran perfectly when I sold it,  but I just want everyone to know that this isn't a bike with only 26K on it. Just a "heads up" for potential buyers. BTW, it's item #220919516474, FYI.

i looked it up, that add has been pulled.  someone must have informed the dealer of the true miles!!  hopefully no one gets screwed on that one!!  grant it, it's a nice cycle, just wasn't worth $5500.  you can buy some real nice ones for that much with 1/2 the miles!!

That is one thing that is wrong with the Valkyrie.
They age well. My Tourer has has over 100,000 miles on it and it still looks new.
So you do have to check out the history of the bike.

Personally, I would never buy anything say over 500 bucks, especially a cycle, etc., off of ebay sight unseen.  Just asking for trouble.
I signed up for ebay just 2 days ago and found a good deal of what I thought was a set of new cobra 'rear' passenger floorboards locally 50 miles away at a shop.  I bid the lowest bid of 175 bucks and 10 minutes later I researched the part# off of directlineparts finding the part number listed had a 1 instead of a 3 in the part# indicating it was the cobra 'front' floorboards.  I called up seller locally indicating his description of 'rear' was correct but the part# was for the 'front' floorboards.  While waiting on phone, he said, oops, sorry I guess I goofed and was actually the front floorboards instead.  Winning bid was 177 bucks still a good deal, but not what I wanted.  My first ebay bid was not very promising to say the least.  Not a big fan of ebay especially since it was my first bid ever using ebay.

Original owner has received this response from the dealer-I think he is handling it well:

Hey Michael this is Ryan the GM at Honda Marysville. Thank you for the heads up this is all new information to me! I am going to remove this bike from the auctions until I can look into these alligations. I'll have to do some research with the COC (clerk of courts) to try and track down the history of the Valkyrie. I purchased this bike from a gentleman who I have bought and sold bikes to for 5 years now. I would not have assumed any kind of shady dealings from him so this news is a little disheartening. If this news turns out to be correct I will disclose all of this information with any future buyers and will adjust the price to reflect its history.
As for the gentleman speaking of the $13K Valkyrie. I took over in August of 2010 and since then I have not sold or offered a Valkyrie at such a price. This July however I had an opportunity to purchase a Interstate model which was the first time I have ever had a chance to have one for sale on my lot. Needless to say I payed the money for this bike, which I do for all Valkyrie's we purchase. I had this bike priced for $10'9 which is a little steep but I thought we had a real special bike on our hands.
Sorry for the lengthy response but the reputation of my dealership is everything to me and my staff. If there is ever an issue I appreciate it being brought to my attention so we can address it and make it right. Not everyon is perfect and we will make mistakes from time to time, but with an issue brought to our attention will work our rear ends off to correct it. Again thank you for the heads up and I will keep you updated with my findings on this vehicle.
Have a great Christmas Sir!

Nice to see someone take responsibility for something, for a change- especially if it wasn't his fault!!
