This winter is really different.  WE have been warmer than normal temps and no real moisture.  Last several years we have had snow on the ground for Christmas/New Year.  This year 10 to 15 degrees higher than normal temps (normal is 38) and brown.  Not that I am complaining, but the winter snows provide water for local use during the summer.  We are at 19% of normal moisture/snow pack.   Last year at this time we were at 120% of normal.

On the flip side of this, is that the Valk has seen a lot of road time.  Rode little over 160 miles yesterday.  Only found one curve that still had frost on it at 3 o'clock.  I have put on nearly 1,000 miles since middle of December.

It was 65 here in Kansas City today.  I was playing golf with just a short sleeve shirt on.  Can not believe how warm it has been so far this winter.

It will probably start snowing big time out there when I get ready to come to your place.  I will be flying out to Portland a week from Tuesday and plan on being in Happy Camp on the  weekend of Jan. 27th for my granddaughter's 17th birthday.  Not sure yet if I will be stopping at your place on the way down there or on the way back.  A lot will depend on the weather forecasts then.

See you in a few weeks.

In Texas we have an expression..."if you don't like the weather stick around a few minutes it will change"  It was 70 today, a few days ago it was in the 30's.  Which isn't nearly as bad as the normal temp swings during the day.  I leave my house in the morning and get on the bike looking like the michelan man because it's 30 degrees, by mid afternoon it's 65 and my saddle bags are stuffed with all the gear with which I started the day.

Be Safe All!
