Not so bad here either.  Suppose to be near 50 degrees out today.  Might just play hooky from work and head west 1 1/2 hours and pick this up since the price cannot be beat (see attached). Misses says ONLY on one condition:  She wants (I don't since nothing wrong with what we have) new living room sofa, loveseat, recliner after our lifetime warranty flexsteel furniture after 18 years is in good shape but showing some wear on the fabric.  I say good deal, spend 2 grand on furniture and I spend 11K on a gently used goldwing.  I should really play hooky today and go pick it up since don't know if we will be getting another 50 degree day to drive it on home.  If I got the Goldwing, the tundra truck would have to sit outside in the snow all winter and the goldwing would have to keep the Valk company in the garage.  Tough decision on who gets drove first come this spring and the Valk might get jealous???  Deals like these don't come along too often but I don't know if I am ready to drive an 'old mans' bike?

I have an 01 with 117k on it now - love that bike. I hate to say it but the "old mans" bike is sort of true. It's hard to be cool on a wing  cool

Apples to apples if you compare the wing to a Valk the wing is better in every way possible. Better ride, more power, 10mpg better mileage, better wind protection. And much better for two up touring.

That being said - I ride the Valk 80% more than the wing. I am actually considering selling the Wing as I much prefer riding the V3 just because it's so much more fun.

That's a nice set of wheels.  The owner said he would negotiate, maybe get him to throw in a sofa and chair with it.  I still think you're coming up with the best side of the deal, and you'll only have to pay twice, once for the bike and once for the other items.  That would make the overall price run about $21,000, give or take a little.

go for it Hondaman, no harm done - first come, first serve I always say.

Just don't rub it in by driving by my house on your way home to West Bend.

I did email the couple and the reply was the older owner can no longer ride due to health and somewhat age.

Seems to me there will good deals coming along, if ever the Valk dies, as the older wing riders age and get out of riding due to health, etc.

I do love that color and equipped good enough for a wing with low miles is sure hard to find though.

Red is the best!

Like the Valk you can expect 250-300K out of a 1800 before any real work needs to be done. I went 11 years on the OEM battery and at 105k replaced the fork seals. Other than that its 10,000 mile oil changes and a new CT every 45k.

We have been on 10 long range trips and last year was the only time we had to do any repair - new battery. Luck would have it I was 500 feet away from a Napa store who had a battery in stock.

On second though maybe I will keep the wing another 11 years  Smiley

If I had mine sold I would be going to get that in a heartbeat. It sound like it's a motivated seller.
I will have to wait till spring and see if the Valk sells. I am that type of person, sell before buying the new 99% of the time.

PS You bet I would take the time and go out of my way to drive up and down your block a BUNCH of times!!

Me too,  I just can't justify having a $7500 Valk I/S and a 11-12 grand Goldwing sitting both in my garage at the same time.  For me, that is a lot of dough for 4-5,000 miles driving at most per year sitting 5 months of the year not being ridden.

Hondamann,  are you seriously going to sell your Valk this spring and look for a newer 2001 on up Goldwing?

If I didn't already have my Valk I/S, for sure that bike would be mine as of yesterday if it ran good and looked as it does in the pics.
I would've gotten a little wet driving home yesterday being 50 degrees with all the snow/salt melting off onto the roads, but it would've been worth it if for nothing else than to miss work.  cool

As far as riding up and down my road a BUNCH of times showing off, you know I have a Valk I/S that would keep up pretty much and catch yah   Grin

That is the plan as of right now. Things could always change though???

If it would happen- I hope I meet as nice of people associated with it as I did with the Valk. That has been 1/2 the joy of owning it (the people).

Hey I just saw in the ad you have a Tundra. I just sold mine last spring. It was the best truck I never drove. (the reason I sold it was a 2003 with only 21,000 miles. I bought it new and it was so nice I never wanted to drive it) What year is yours?
