Last fall I sanded and polished the front forks of my I/S. It was 5-7 hours of sanding. I started with 400 git sandpaper and worked up to 1500 and then took them to Fritz's shop and had them polished they turned out great. Thanks Fritz. I took the forks off my Tourer and they will be polished this winter. Fritz said I can save a lot of time by sanding and polishing them with his different type of polishing wheels.

Hey Jack,
I won't be riding my Valk for at least a couple of months yet either, so do you want me to send my forks to your address or Fritz's?  tongue  You can do Nitro's first if you want...

Nice job!

Too bad Fritz is back to work he had a lot of time this fall but he had no forks to rub on. Now he's working - no time to rub.
If you what me to do it sent those forks my way! and just wait I'll get them someday. Yea someday.

SMokinJoe, are you going to Keystone in June?  If so, what day will you be leaving on.  Maybe we could ride together.  I'll be leaving on Monday, June 18 to arrive in Keystone June 20.  Could arrive a little earlier depending.

Jack I'm curious why you didn't polish the upper third of your forks? They look great though.

I didn't polish the upper forks because it's a Interstate and the fairing covers then up.
And I'm a little lazy. If I would do it again I would do the tops because from the back side you can see the top of the forks but you have to look.

Jack,

I think you should take them off and do the tops before you give all of us a bad reputation !!!

Hey Jim
I might or maybe just paint them black.
If I paint them black will it be fast again?
Because after the bike was painted gray it felt slower.
The flames didn't make it any faster.
New paint must be heavy.
