We must have missed the roads around Nemo on our way to Lead/Deadwood from Rapid City.  Sounds like awesome roads as well.   I did like the town of Lead to see the old huge lead mining quarry, pretty massive. We missed the legendary town of Sturgis also.  There is so much to see in South Dakota so spread out that it takes more than 1 week to see it all.

correct, although the gold mine has been closed for 20 years or so!

It is pronounced "leed", not like the metal lead.

Great vacation, bring the family!

With rehab ongoing, I have had time to read all of the news on the forum, plan my trip to Keystone, research various roads around there, and read up on stuff around Mt. Rushmore.  I've been in the area years ago and am looking forward to the reunion.  I'm even working on my local riding friend to see if his wife will let him run out there with me.

It's good to hear(read) the things you guys have put out there.  Especially the invite from MP to the newbies.  I've also sent the reunion information to the guy I bought my bike from in Littleton, CO.  I told him this is one of the best groups he could ever be involved with.  Not just from friendship but from learning about his Val.

My reservations are made and I am pressing diligently in getting this shoulder back in riding condition before the June trip.  After reading some info recently on the board, I also need to make arrangements to have a couple of things done to "Sweet Thang" before the trip.  One is having the differential oil changed.  I don't know if this bike has ever had it done and it's got over 40K on it.  It runs sweet as is but I also want to tighten the throttle some, a little to much turn before engaging to suit me.  Next is adding the change to the rear turn signals to make them run/stop/turn LED from Electrical Connection like my other bike.  I love to see the rear-end lit up.

So, MP, and others, get those road trips ready and whomever has the frig I'll add some refreshments to it.  Looking forward to June.

I spoke with Joe today and made reservations for June 16-24.  Don't really know when I'll arrive or leave yet, but I've got the bases covered!  By the way, his cancellation policy is rather stiff.  Cancel after June 01, and he's going to bill me for the whole 8 nights anyway!!!

Good to see you're going, I've been wondering where you were!

Joe told me when I made my reservations that I could change my reservations any time... Weird.

Joe tole me when I made my reservations that the cancellation without charges had to be 48 hrs. in advance of show date.  Sounds like Joe can't remember his Inn's policies.

Several more have signed up!  Get your room reserved, and let me know you are coming.  Either PM or on the board here.  One of America's best motorcycling areas.
