I have read on here opinions regarding the Russell and Ultima seats. No one has compared them to Corbin's. The Ultima as I understand it places the rider closer to the controls or moves the rider closer to the front but also lower. The Russell I'm not sure of and have called them but the information is confusting. They requested my original seat to build off of. The Corbin has the same rider position as the factory. Does anyone have a comparison opinion regarding the three?

...and I am NEVER hesitant with opinions:eek:
Corbin seats (I've owned two) are way too hard for my taste. They told me to break it in and after 35,000 miles it was way too hard. My rear is considerably larger than average:rolleyes:  (______!______) is about right. The Corbin is narrower than I like. I also have had customer service problems with them in the past although others have said it was fine.
The Ultimate seats hit me...um...er...I guess too high in the voice box as my voice raises an octave or two when I ride far on one.
I have never had nor heard a complaint on the Russell. They will build it to fit. Yes, you do have to send in your seat pan for it, but there are a lot of folks with stock pans who will either give you one or sell it cheap.
I ran a Hartco seat for about 30,000 miles and liked it until the foam wore out. I am having a local seatbuilder replace the foam so I can try out his work. One advantage of the Hartco was the $400 total cost. Hartcoseats.com
All of these are my opinions. I hope some of this helps.Cheesy

I too used to be a fan of the corbin seat when i bought it for my 99 VFR it was like a Godsend compared to my stock seat cause like valker my posterior is a bit larger then most peoples it was absolutly great so when i sold that bike and bought a hayabusa i of course bought a corbin for that  angry  and it was terrbile to hard to start with the design was just fair so i opted to ditch it and have a local seat build build me one in a similar design but with comfy foam as for the other seats i couldn't tell ya a thing about them all i know is corbins are good on some bikes and others there not all depends on what ya like

just my 2 cents

well here goes my 2 cents worth. I had a mustang seat on my 2002 shadow spirit liked it alot and when I bought my (99) Interstete it had a mustang seat with a backrest love my mustang seat. all i have heard about corbin is you got to let a 600 pound guy use it for about a season or two and it will be nice and soft. I don't know about you guys but I don't want to pay that much money for a seat I can't use for two years. hope this helps confues you even more. rolleyes rolleyes Smiley

..but I used mine for twice as long:eek:
I just ordered a new Diamond seat for mine. I have looked and looked, but I couldn't afford the $1200 Russell I wanted. This looks like a great one. I have talked with a lot of folks with Diamonds who really love them. The guy on the phone made me a good deal, Custom made to fit (______!______) my rear and weight. He is adding a lot of thigh support since I told him I wanted a comfy seat and didn't care if I could put my feet down easy at a stop or not:eek:
It has a cloth cover because I hate sweaty buns in the heat. He threw in a free rain cover and free shipping since it is still his slow season. I should have about 3,000 miles on it by April 1 and will let y'all know how it is. Total price was less than $600 for front seat with built in backrest and rear seat custom fit.Shocked
