Can anyone help me.  I have been getting alot of backfiring, when ever I decelerate.  I have changed the plugs, and it still backfires.  Does anyone know what will stop this.

thanks
Big G.

You have a split vacuum hose. These are the small, black hoses that are connected to three of your carbs. At least one is split. The place they usually split is on the bottom of the hose, just inboard from where it attaches to the carb. My easy fix for mine was to cut the hose just before the split and using a short plastic tube to join a new piece from the cut to the carb. On the road and it happens? Duct tape or electrical tape over the split.shocked
Full fix? Pull the tank and replace the hoses.

Valker above is probably correct, unless you have just recently gone to some place with much higher altitude. I have noticed that you can get some, when you get into higher altitudes (without readjusting the carbs for it).

I would like to thank you guys.  That is exactly what it was.
What a pain just to get to two little vacum hoses.  I got it all back together, and no spare parts.  Thanks again.  Big G.
