Hey Rev, I'm a frequent flyer to Summerville where my daughters live.  I was stationed in Chasn for 12 years two daughters got married there.  Now in south GA near the Ga/Fl line.

I use the Amsoil 10W-40 Synthetic High Performance Motorcycle Engine Oil in my Valk and 10W-40 Synthetic High Performance Motor Oil in my Durango.  Been using Amsoil for about 10 years never had a problem and it isn't as expensive as Mobile 1.

Hey Frank!  Good to hear from you.  Yes, I'm in Charleston pretty frequently since I have a son at the Citadel there.  Nice area there and lots to do.

This is my first try on synthetic oil, but so far I'm really impressed.  The transmission whine between 40 to 50 mph has diminished quite a bit and the shifting is SO much smoother!  If I ride out to Sipapu in July, I think I'm really going to appreciate such a good oil.

Take care!

I am planning on making the change to the AMSOIL motorcycle synthetic myself, on my next change.  I am thinking that will probably sometime in the next few weeks.  I may be ready for another change by the time that I get to Sipapu, so I could take advantage of the deal that they are going to have there.

...and labor for $32 on Valks. I'm having mine done there. I have run the Amsoil before and like it a lot. Go here: http://members.aol.com/ridein2003/html/sponsor.html and then click on the Amsoil link.

I just changed my oil for the first time and  switched it to Amsoil 10W-40  and the trans is much smoother and that whine in 3rd is much more tolerable. My cost was only about $26 for four qts of oil and the oil filter. I will not be going back to petroleum!!
