Has anyone heard of a Valkyrie Interstate coming stock with Avon tires?  I recently bought a 2001 model and it has Avon Venom-R tires on it.  The previous (and original) owner told me the bike came off of the showroom floor with them on it.  He says that he didn't request them but they were on there when he bought the bike with 1 mile showing on the odometer.  The bike had 6,000 miles showing when I bought it and the wear on the tires looks consistent with that mileage.  My local dealer (not the same dealer that sold the bike new) tells me that the bike should have come with Dunlops.  huh

Some of the original Dunlops had delamination problems. This dealer MIGHT have just replaced the Dunlops. I have never heard of it, but that is a possibility. You might want to do a VIN# check on the bike just to be sure, but since you already bought it, I'd just enjoy the heck out of it.Cheesy

Haven't ever heard of it, but anything is possible. I haven't heard of any that came that way, but could have. The dealer that told you that they should have been Dunlops would be right as far as I know.
I think that Valker may have a handle on it, there were some problems with the tires on both the Dunlops, and with the Avons. The dealer may have had them changed out when he recieved it.
I have also heard of some problems with the Metzelers giving some problems, I know of some who had a problem. I have never had any.
I tried the Avons, and I didn't like them, but that was just me. Many like them.
I hope that you like the your new purchase, I have, I am on my second Interstate, and I love it. I feel sure that you will too.
