The few miles that i have ridden my Valk i have gotten about 33mpg so i'm happy with that as long as i can get over 30 outta a bike i really can't complain and the 33 mpg was on 85 octane in the black hills pulling up and down them so i really can't complain at all Cheesy

I am the one with the most reports of mileage in the 50s. I have gotten well into the 53 mpg range on several tanks. This has always been slower going in the Rocky mountains and also one tank on a group ride in the LaCrosse, WI area at the Ride In there. I take issue with the suggestion to immediately discount these reports as I have been generally reliable in my posts. This past Ride In in New Mexico, I hit reserve on my Tourer at 196 miles-but I didn't take time to figure the mileage on that tank. I have said that MOST of my mileages have been in the low to mid 30s in mixed riding. My lowest ever was 26mpg. I now have almost 63,000 miles on my 98 so this is verified by quite a few tanks of gas.shocked

hey valker
Could it be that your great gas mileage is due to the action of your aerodynamically svelt body compressing your  tourer close to the ground  rolleyes
I guess Im just jealous I cant keep under 3500 rpm long enough to even come close to your numbers

...my 'teardrop' shape contributing to aerodynamic enhancement!!! I am sure that I have run more than 500 tanks of gas through my Valk, not many of them have I been able to maintain under 3500 RPM for very long.shocked
