does anyone know how to take off the tank emblems (97) so i can paint it? any info would be appreciated. thanks

They are glued on. Just grab a corner and lightly pull they will come off with just a little resistance. Warm them up with a hair dryer or a heat gun and they will just about fall off. This works best when the tank is very low on fuel. No liquid on the other side to disapate the heat. The remaining glue will roll off with you fingers. BR

A piece of monofiliment fishing line pulled behind the emblem works well too.  Then roll the remaining glue off with your fingers.
