Ok lets do the tire debate again.

 It's getting time to put new skins on the interstate. I ride  slighty agressive and don't mind scraching the pegs once in awhile.  So car tires are not an option but Dunlop is getting old.

What's next? Avon, Bridgstone, Metz, any body have a good comparison?

Im going with avons next time. Maybe a 200 series in the back.

Avons. I always got at least 16K out of them and loved the handling. You will NOT like the 200 series rear though. They are not radials and will last about 5000 miles. Just get the Venom R.shocked

I've heard the venom might be the way to go but the local shop does'nt have them.....sooo the next question is where is the good
place to buy $$$$$$$

I ride aggressively most of the time, not having any problem scraping my pegs...with my car tire, a Yokohama AVS Sport. I can carve turns better than before.  Cheesy

A good car tire is certainly an option!!

OK, you have my attention! You really can cut a corner and no tale wag? What size tire are you running. What kind of tire are you running in front? Is there any wobble at high speed because of differential tread design?

Tire size is 205/55/16. Absolutely no tail wagging as you say, holds a line through the curves amazingly well. This particular tire is rated AA for traction, so I won't be getting 100k miles, more likely 30 to 40K. But, it sticks like you know what to a blanket.


I did the nut cage mod on the ride side fender, got a bit of rubbing when carrying a passenger.

Now, as far as high speed wobble. Absolutely none for the first few thousand miles. Unfortuanately I recently had to lock up the rear wheel when a q-tip hung a left in front of me.  Since then I get a vibration that starts at about 87mph and then transitions to a slow frequency wobble when the bike reaches about 110mph. I attribute the vibration to a flat spot on the tire from the accident avoidance but I'm not sure if that would also set the wobble in, too.

I can say that braking action on the rear is VERY good.

Just to underline the biggest surprise for me, slow u-turns and fast exits around tight on-ramps has never been easier, just amazing.

Oh yes, I'm still running whats left of the OEM Dunlop on the front.  Most likely will be putting a Venom up there soon. Cheesy

with mine the dunlops are "totaly traction free" in first gear! how is the hammer drop with the car tire?

I've never broken the Yokohama free, but I probably don't give it the max, either.  I know I had no problem spinning the original rear Dunlop, so it would be safe to assume that this particular car tire is a big improvement.

thanks , "I AM NOT HAPPY" with the traction of the Dunflops. they feel like they are just skimming the road. sometimes comming completely loose IN 2nd GEAR! I Will be making a change!

P.S. I've read 215/60/16 will work with fender (bolt) mods. any feedback? I need more gear!!

Glad you said that. I was worried I was the only one with DunFlops that lost traction in 2nd gear....sometimes I do it in 3rd.
