I am in the market for a new saddle like many of you have been in the past. I sat on a Big Boy and found it to be to small for my petite size (6'6" 350lbs.) I would like to see the King Bigboy but as of yet I haven't been able to reach a rider in my area that has one. I was told of Russell Daylong and was wondering if any of the folks on the board have one. If you do please let me know how much you like/dislike the product. I have heard that they are very nice but to date haven't been able to confirm that. As always any response will be helpful. Thanks, Mark

Day Long saddles are far and away the seat of choice for long distance or IronButt riders. The are one of the few companies who truly build it to fit only you. They even offer an optional 'ride in' service where you show up at their shop in CA on the appointed day, and they build the seat with you in the shop to try on ever little thing as they build it. They offer a money back comfort guarantee. That being said, they are expensive and have a waiting list.

I have had a russell for about 3 or 4 years now and love it big time. Week long journeys to the day off adventure all seem effortlessly when on my Russell. They are pure quality and for little guys such as yourself they have add-on option to the seat springs to make you smile even more from ear to ear. The backseat rider option is a great one as well which makes the person riding behind you feel like a million bucks too.
So get your order form filled in, take the pictures of you on the bike as they ask for and sit on a copy machine and get a pic of the rear end so they can get your seat made to perfection and you will be on your way to some great riding days ahead.
For the money you get what your paying for and you will be very happy.

Thanks to both of the folks that responded. I really am glad to see information about our sport shared with others that need assistance when trying to make an informed choice. A new saddle is an investment and one that I don't care to make more then once. I have only been a part of this forum for a short time but have been given solid advise on every subject that I have asked about. To all that have helped now and in the past I again say thank you. Mark,
No problem, we got the best members for sure and they will give you some real good info on anything or find out if they don't know. I learn so much on these boards that save me money and time. Yes, that seat is a big investment for sure, but when you get it, you will be so happy and can ride for days without complaining about your butt being sore. I just really love my russell. I ride long hauls alot and that baby is so comfy all day long.
Thanks and safe riding,
TAZ

I know that materials saddles are made of are personal choice. I was wondering for those of you whom already have the Russell Daylong, which material do you prefer? The vinyl, velour inserts or all leather. Thanks

Mine isn't a Day Long, but it has the velour seats. I seriously I will ever have a saddle with vinyl or even leather again. After a 15 hour day in 90ยบ weather, there is no rear end irritation, no sweaty buns, and no damp pants. It is a bit more trouble in wet weather...but so is everything else.

sat my butt on a King Boy Sat. One of our members just got one, and was offering test sits after our Vermin meeting. It was great, I loved the Big Boy when I tested it at the Ride-in in Helen. I especially love the way that it puts you back a few inches. I am petite like you (6'4" 250), and it was nice for my legs.

Thanks for the response, I am going to get a different saddle this winter and I am undecided about which one. The reputation of the Russell Daylong speaks for itself, however I am also hearing alot of good things about the ultimate seats. I also am petite at 6'1" and 265lbs. I live in the metro Atlanta area and the humidity here is terrible. K.C. , I was wondering if you remember what the width on the King Bigboy was. On their website it looks huge. I have a 2001 Interstate and was wondering what it would look like on it. Great site yall have here , there are alot of helpful people and great information for those of us who are new to the valks. Thanks, Doc
