Author Topic: 440 Progressive Shocks To Soft..What to do.  (Read 782 times)

I just got back from a quick ride with the wife on back, I nearly ruined a back tire.  With the extra weight , the tire was rubbing the fender.  I do not have the documentation on the 440 shocks any longer, How do you tighten up the shocks.  A thinner wife would solve the problem too, but she has been working on that for years with no luck, so I better stiffen up the shocks if she is going to be riding with me.

...the shocks above the springs and turn them (clockwise looking from the top) the same amount on each shock. I got the heavy duty springs on mine-that helped also. When mine get really dirty (pretty often really) I have to use a 'strap wrench' to get them to turn. Sounds like you need to turn them as far as they will go. Hope this helps.
