I was contacted by a gentleman who works for High Country White Water Rafting and he can provide us with a real good group discount for a half day or day White Water Rafting trip while we are out there. I figure the half day trip would be good. It's in Crested Butte about an hour or so away from Montrose. They can also provide a bus to pick us all up, but not sure if we all would rather ride there since it will be a nice ride.
Sound off here and let me know if you in for this, I know I am, it will be fun and being the heat normally when out there a good way to some cold water in your face and get refreshed while going through some fun rapids.
Thanks, TAZ

whitewater rafting !!!!? wow ! sounds pretty dangerous to me, think i'll stick to the safest sport i know, riding a motorcycle ! we ride in rain, hail, tornados, earthquakes, 120 degree heat, heavy freeway traffic, and high wind. we're a bunch of sick puppies, aint we ? dennis

Dennis you sound like me, I ride in whatever I get. I don't much appreciate hail, snow or ice though. I got caught in some sort of soft hail on Sat. It was beginning to collect on the roadway, LOTS OF FUN. I made it where I was going; a CMA breakfast. Bear, you mentioned Rougue River; I've been there. But it was about 20 years ago.

if i knew how to attach it, i have a picture of my wife sitting on the back of the wing with a full blown tornado in the background. the only thing i haven't experiences yet is riding during an earthquake. but i've left california less than 12 hr. ahead of three of them. (thank you Jesus)
i got hit by a small tornado north of reno once. knocked me into the center medium. got hit south of montrose by a large dust devil that hit so hard it tatood the left side of my face about the size of a dime, with dirt. took several years to go away.
got caught in walnut size hail across old hwy. 50 once, (no place to hide) freezing cold, and heat that made the asphalt sticky.
and yet, we still do it.

Still trying for July vacation time. Will let you know.
Did you get my email about all ride-in materials I have from the first ride-in? Do you still need that info??

Dennis; I know what you mean, I have ridden in much the same conditions as you. My new Rider magazine has an article by one guy saying that he loves to ride, whatever weather, a lot like us. It's pretty good. I can send it to you if you like.
