I/S and LED's

I have some LED modules on the way.  The last three or four times to bike week/biketoberfest, there was a vendor at the shopping center across from the Honda shop.  He had a Wing set up with lights all over it.  One of the things I liked was the LED installed under the windshield that made the edge of the windshield glow with the color.  Anybody know how that is done?  Also, if anybody has any tips on installing the LEDs on the Valk, I would appreciate your thoughts and ideas.
