Hi,
I got my ticket, and here is my current thinking on plans for a get together. Tell me what you think.
I have booked into the Charity Poker run which starts between 11 - 1 on Thur. I would be willing to meet up with anyone who is going to do that and we could do it together? I think it would be a nice thing for the VOA if we were seen riding as a group for charity. For those who know of him Fred Rau, and his wife Cherrie will be the hosts. I have never met him but he was the original editor of the Motorcycle Consumer News (my favorite bike mag) and sounds like nice guy whom I would like to meet.
For Wed I have another idea which would be a ride around the lake we could stop at Fort Ticonderoga (sp?) if people are interested ( or the big loop up to Lake Placid if people are up to it?) starting at a breakfast get together for meet and greet, probably at the Full of Bull which is a couple of miles north on 9N from the Villiage. Good food. Probably make it at 9:00-9:30 for breakfast and start from there north after.
Let me know if you are interested? I will be there in any case so come on by, look for the DragonRiders.

Pierre The manufacturers rides I did in the past were between 1/2 hour (KAW) and just under an hour (BMW) If you took BORROWED the rocket to drive to albany you would have to run a gauntlet of state police for sure. LOL evan:cool:

Hey Evan; if you get a chance to ride the Rocket 3, got for it. I rode one a few months ago, what a kick in the pants. I sort of wish that it had a windshield, but still what FUN.

Hello All, I'll be in Lake George Tuesday night through Friday night, have reservations at the Econo Lodge in Glens Falls. I'm in for the Wednesday breakfast and the Thursday Poker Run. This should bump Paul's post back to the top.

Hi Dan,
Great to have you join us. For any who don't know the Thur Poker run, I have not been on yet, is a self directed thing, but you need to book it when you get your tickets, I believe that it generally sells out so get your registration in if you haven't already.
However I figure that even if you were not on the list nothing is going to stop you from joining the ride just for fun right?
BTW has anyone been on this before? What about lunch? since it starts right at lunch time. Do we need to eat before on our own or is there a way to get food as part of the run?

I have done the Thurs. Poker Run since 2001. It is hosted by Fred Rau & other motojournalists will be at the stops for the poker hand. The run benefits the "Ride for Kids" (Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation).
One of the stops (last year 2 of the stops) has food available. I'm sure that information (whether 1 or 2 lunch opportunities) will be available when getting your envelope for the poker hand.

Just wanted to make sure that this does not drop off the main page. Also I thought that for the Thur poker run if any would like to join Lonnie and me, I was thinking of meeting anyone who is going, remember you gotta get tickets in advance see web site http://www.tourexpo.com , at the Propect Mtn Diner ( I am pretty sure that was the name of it) it is across the street from the new expo center building, at around 11:30, and then we could ride up to the start together? Hope to see you there!

Hi Keith,
Yes the Wed ride is definitely on. At the moment I expect 5-10 to join us. Should be fun and a good chance to put some faces with the names!
I will be staying where I have for the last few years at the Juliana Motel in Diamond Pt. It is a nice lakeside place just over the town line north of Lake George.
