HEY EVERYONE....

Looking to get rid of this boring board appearance and go with something more ALIVE.   What do you like on the current board and what would you love to have changed?  I need your input but of course don't promise miracles but at least can do some things to improve the overall image of the board.
As always we aim to please our family of Valkyrie Owners so please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!   TAZ

Nothing.

I chose this board because it is simple, easy to navigate, and loads fast enough for my dial up connection.  Th:) e Smiley milies cou:blush: ld  go howe:eek: ver an:confused: I would:eek: n't mi:flamer: ss the:D m.

Overall a very well managed board with lots of knowledge and a great group of Valkyrie riders to boot.

I think the basic message board format is the best.  I've been on other forums that have been upgraded from, for example, the VRCC style or the Delphi forums, to this format.  If that is what you mean by improving the appearance.

A good "Classified" Section or forum is always good, and some "How To" Stickies help generate hits.  Instead of changing the appearance too much, just rearrange or change the titles of some of the Forums.  Just my 2 cents...

I agree with Mark and Bob.  This forum is easy to navigate, it's managed well and has a great group of people posting.  I like it the way it is.

But since you asked.... a "spell check" feature would be nice.

TAZ. I am on many different boards. This format is the easiest to follow of ANY of them. I like it the way it is. Thanks for asking.

The board is not the problem... looks and works great.  How can we get more members and post who make this board more attractive.

As a VTX and Valkyrie owner, I don't understand how everyone owning these bikes don't paraticpate in or on the associated boards.

The VTXOA board is awesome for infomaion and has 12427 registered users.  That number should be tripled.  This board has about 500+.

So I ask, how can we get the word out???

Things I would like to see:
Move the classifieds to the forum side, that way it is easier to find items for sale, ask questions on item, and poster can notify when sold.
Need a member location data base like on the old board to find other Valk riders in area/state.

Hey Taz,

I thought I should also mention another real positive about our current format (in my opinion).

Breaking the forum up by subject matter is key.  I visit a couple of other sites where all posts are mixed (except the technical posts) and it is very difficult to decipher what could be interesting Valk information and what is idle chitchat.

For instance, the addition of "Off the beaten path" for non-valk chatter is great.  I don't necessarily use it, but it keeps the areas that I do use more on target without limiting the options for those who do choose to post there.

Thanks for our current set up and thank you for reaching out to everyone before making changes.

the format works great for me. the only thing I would like would be a way to get pictures in without having to ask family members help to shrink them
wife had to help me shrink this pic-hope it finally uploads

Hey Taz, I'm pretty happy with the board in it's current configuration. If you make any changes, I suppose this old man can adapt. But whatever you do, please don't eliminate the "View New Posts" feature. That alone makes this board a pleasure to use.

With the dwindling of Valk owners in existance, I just want a Valkyrie board to exist period!  Looks fine to me.

Thanks to everyone that is posting to let me know what they like and would like to see changed.

As I read it now the forum itself is working great for everyone, Perfect!

Classifieds move possibly into a forum type section where you can post a picture of the item and have discussions on it,  Will see what we can do, should be able to do something for that.

Uploading pictures to the forum is not always easy.....will  check into this and see what can be done, issue is that most pics when first out of the camera or scanned are very very large and need to be compressed, so best thing to do before downloading is get a photo editing software and crop down (size it down) the  picture and then do a HIGH COMPRESSION on the pic.  This will make the picture very easy to upload and also come up quickly on the board for viewing.  Even if you get a cheap software program for photo editing it will do this simply task for you, do it in a .jpg  format .

I think the front page will get a work over in appearance, pics and a quick change marquee type affect so we can post NEW  news quicker and get info out to people when needed.

Question then is does the chat room work for people currently or do you still have problems with that?  Maybe we could have CHAT NIGHT acouple times a week where everyone knows people will be showing up and get more participation going.  They have that on the PC800 board I go to and they get nice groups of chatters on those nights. Let me know.

Thanks,   TAZ

OK,  you asked for it, now we have it.

Check out on the main forum lisitings and towards the bottom you will see the link for our NEW "CLASSIFIEDS FORUM"  where you can put an ad and picture and then if anyone has questions they can post them as well.   When your item has sold let me know or put a reply in your listing and admin can delete the ad for you.
Let me know if this works ok for you.

Thanks,  TAZ
