Just thought you might be interested in seeing an 8 1/2 gallon gas tank. Looks good to me. As its mine.

My blower bike could use one ;)

Sorry to say I don't know. But I think it is an aftermarket job. Bought the bike as seen on ebay. But it is from Calif. probably L.A area.

I found the source.

They first asked $1100 then ended up dropping to a price of $1000 for one painted black with an aero fuel cap.  I didnt take it.  Im not saying I wouldnt, but I think I can find a clean Interstate tank for about $600.

Im going to think about it and look at paint costs for a Interstate tank, etc.  If I find the cost of the interstate tank and any paint costs approach within a couple hundred dollars of the other tank, then I would probably go head and spring for it.  I dont think that will be the case though.

Here is the link.

Well Sludge it sure looks like mine. How did you get a price on it?I'm not that adept at the websites. But with the $1000 price plus the other extras I have found priced at $5000 it comes up to a pretty good savings.  Its a 2001 and cost me $9400. With only 10,000 miles on it. Plus some small extras I haven't found what their name is as yet. Also do they say anything about the capasity? I haven't verified mine as yet. Thanks for the info.

You mentioned a Aero gas cap. Mine is a Newton from England. Are they both screw ins ? Or do you know ? Mine does not lock so was thinking about a locking one.

Here is another site that tells a good deal of info on the tank too.  Finding this site helped me find the manufacturer.

http://www.f6rider.com/GasTank.htm

Capacity listed by this guy is 8.5gal.  However if I remember correctly the company rep told me 9 gal.

And yes, a good buy on that bike.  Sweet lookin ride.  The only thing it needs is the blower ;)  I actually tried to save a picture from your photo stash for the slideshow of Valks I use for my screen saver but it wouldnt let me. Sad

Post a good sized jpg of the beast in this thread for me so I can put it in the collection Smiley

Oh, btw, here is another site that has some cool valks I found during my search for the big tank.  Thought you might enjoy a look.

http://www.barhopperchoppers.com/index.php

They chopped some fenders, put the big gas tank on and a chopper seat.  Not a comfortable ride im sure, but they look good.

Yea bones, I did click on the pic and the big pic came up.  Unfortunately its in flash or something and when I right click it wont let me have the option to save it.

When you click on the pic to get the large size, on the top edge of the picture there is a spot that says all sizes.  Click on this, you go to another page and you can save from there.  At least that worked for me.

Hmm.. thats odd.  I opened the page again and right clicked the picture.

I get two options.  A settings option and a "About Macromedia" option that takes me to a web page.  Maybe I dont have flash installed on this machine.  BTW this is my office machine...  I will go check to see if this one has that installed.  If it doesnt, then thats likely the culprit.

Don't right click the picture.  Just above the top left corner of the picture there are 3 small grey headings.  The 3rd one says All Sizes.  Click on that, and that will take you to another page that you can right click and save.
