Less than 30 days until Valkyries from all over the eastern part of the US converge in Helen GA for the 6th Annual Gathering of the Valkyries.  Early registration has been brisk with lots of folks returning; as well as lots of first-timers.

All the information is available at http://www.voaridein.com/helenmain.htm

Hal Hogan will once again be leading a ride up to Deal's Gap to ride the Dragon.  Tom Wright has been keeping his final route a secret but it will be a scenic and twisty route up into NC (and possibly TN).  There will also be a couple of escorted rides along slower, less twisty (there are no straight flat roads in north GA!) scenic routes.  Something to offer for all levels of experience and comfort/safety.

All capped off with another great dinner at the Unicoi Lodge with some nice door prizes and great socializing.

T-shirt order will be placed on Tuesday, May 3rd; so if you haven't sent in your registration, send me an e-mail with your order as there won't be any extras ordered   Also, letting me know if you are coming allows me to produce enough Rider packets and gifts so I don't run out like last year.

If you have any questions, drop me a note or give me a call.

Ride as if your life depended on it!

Dave,

Im looking forward to seeing everyone.   if I can get the bike back together and tuned in time I will be down.  I already reserved the room.  You should see payment from a couple of us up in NC soon.

I am really excited to getting back to Helen and seeing everyone. I am thrilled with the early registration levels; although the Interstates are sure in the majority.
For those of you thinking about bringing your spouse or significant other, please don't have a second thought about whether they will fit in.  Of the folks that are registered so far, almost 45% are couples.  Even if the SO is not up for a lot of riding, there is plenty to do in Helen to more than keep them happy.  From shopping to sightseeing, to shopping, to sitting by the pool, to shopping....did I mention shopping?  Debbie will be more than happy to serve as their shopping escort!  LOL!

We will be arriving early Friday morning and will be checking out some of the roads on an impromptu ride Friday afternoon for anyone that wants to join in.

See you in Helen!

Why is it that all of the Valkyrie gatherings seem sooooo far away?

Georgia, Colorado...  The closest one to me is in, KY.

Are there any annual Valkyrie events closer to New England?…

Other than "ride-ins" at Americade, or Laconia.

I know, I'm whining...  and I'm sorry.

We (VOA) had a great Ride In last year in Philadelphia. My youngest son and I rode out from Texas and came back the Blue Ridge Parkway and Deal's Gap. It was a great time.Cheesy

Thanks Valker.

John
Valley Forge was a blast you would have loved it.
Valker was the clear master of the slow ride event and Shftr led a great ride thru the amish country.
Maybe we can put together a September or October ride or Sat. overnite (but not a full ride in- will be too short of funds after the 2 week Montrose trip) before the leaves are off the trees and on the highway.  Think about it and email me with suggestions or we can just talk about it at americaid over a few beers.
This is what happens when you volunteer to be exec. NE Pres!!

Evan,

It sounds like you had a great time.  I'd love to do a Saturday overnight somewhere.  I realized after reading through some of the other events that I didn't do a very good job of planning my trips this year.

My wife wanted to make plans early, so we decided to go to the Honda Hoot, which makes some of the other rides a little more difficult.

My buddy and I are thinking about hitting Americade for a quick ride (probably an overnight), so I will stay in touch to coordinate a meet for those beers.

Thanks
