Some of you may remember that I that I posted in January that I was leaving on a trip to Panama on my Valk/Friendship II rig.  Well I'm home and here are a few pix.

The trip took four months and was about 14,500 miles.  As to the pics.  Let's see if I can get them to post.  The first is me standing in front of Pedro Miguel Locks. A Pacific-bound ship is entering from Gaillard cut.  The second is me a two passers by stanidn in front of the Welcome-to-Darien-province sign.  At this point i was about 65 miles from Columbia.  I went a few miles farther south.

No one rode in the sidecar.  That was my luggage system! Only had to bride the cops three times.

I have an agreement with the webmaster of my local club to put together a page on the club website about the trip.  Probably be about a month.  When it's done, I'll post the address and you can browse the page.

Meanwhile, let me say this.  I'm not in the least fluent in Spanish. I learned most of my Spanish by watching The Three Amigos.  But I'm willing to try. I get blank looks alot, but usually people try to help me with directions and so on.

The reason I did the trip was to prove that there is somewhere else to go besides Alaska.  Alaska's nice, but it's been done to death.  You don't have to speak Spanish to go south.

The pictures are great, if you have more try posting them in the Gallery section, compress them big time so you can fit abunch of them on.   If you can't let me know, you can send me them to my email address in a zip file and I will compress them and put them on for you.  If you do that put some captions or something so I know how to title the photo album.

Thanks!  TAZ
