I WAS SO FREAKIN HOT goin thru Indiana and PA  construction zones blowin that hot air over my legs -- that f6 was like sittin on a blast furnace so I cheated and rode the shoulder for several dozen miles  in second  and third gear when it was safe to do so while those on the I70 and I80 just sat still.

baker air wings are great. My legs stayed dry in the rain when I shut them until the rain really started to come down heavy. In the low humidity air of colorado they were effective at all speeds

No more helmet buffeting!!

Please Tell me how to take off the inside piece John without breakin the wings.

I called Baker to see if they could provide snaps on the "removable" triangular piece, so it would be easy to remove / install, but they didn't have any.  They did however think it was a great idea, so they're going to call me back when they return from their latest road trip to talk about it further.

In the mean time... I did a little research and found DOT Manufacturing on the web.   DOT makes those snap sockets and post that allow us to snap a visor, or shield onto our helmets (the female portion goes through the plexi-glass and the male portion is mounted to the face of the helmet).

I just got off the phone with a representative from DOT Manufacturing and she is going to send me some sample sizes to try on my Air Wings based on some measurements I gave her.  Hopefully we can identify which ones work, then I can share the information with Baker when they call me back next week and suggest that they offer the snaps as an option to their product.

If not, I'll buy a bunch and resell them to anyone interested.  They're really cheap to purchase, but in most cases you have to purchase 100, or 1000 pieces at a time.  Not sure what I would do with 1000 snap caps, but we'll see what happens.

Thanks Retrodog for your impressions.  I went to the Honda Homecoming in Marysville, OH last weekend.  I had only seen Goldwings to that point.  That's the first time I had seen a Valk.  What a great looking bike.  I haven't ridden one yet, but I have ridden a Goldwing.   Before riding the GL, I hadn't been on a bike in 25 years.  That was a Kaw 650.  I don't know how to compare the rides yet so your critique was helpful.  Just can't get over how much better lookin the Valk is than the Goldwing.  I'm lurking here to learn more.  Jack

I was thinking about the comment that the motor doesn't completely lose power, that  begins by "missing."

I noticed that too and have a theory on it... there's six carbs down there. So when they run out of gas, they probably give out one by one, not all excatly at the same time.

Now I have the INterstate, so I get around 150+ range, and stop to strech out (and refuel - both me and the bike) before I really need gas. But still, nothing sucks more than losing power suddenly when you are expecting it.
