New 2003 valk with stock oem dunlops. When I corner I feel a kind of vibration/grinding sensation in front tire area. Anybody know what that feeling is?

I also have a new Valk and the exact same sensation. Kinda scarey when you're used to draggin a knee to have the bike start to rumble in the curves.

Jim,                                                                                                                                                                                           That vibration you are feeling is definately the tires. I have had all of the tires made for the Valk except for Bridgestones & They all exhibit that feeling in different degrees. Even the highly touted Avons produced that noise & feel for me. The best thing you can do to minimize it & get the most life from your tires is to inflate them to a higher PSI than what Honda recommends. Most of us have found that a pressure of 38-40 in the front & 40-42 rear seems to give the best overall performance. Good luck & enjoy that new Valk.

I'm not tire expert (hopefully someone reading this is and can help) but, if ALL the tires make this sound and vibration, it it the TIRES? I would think that if every tire you put on the bike has the same problem that it's NOT the tires. Somebody please straighten me out. I never felt this on any other bike (I haven't been on ALL of them - YET!) I can't imagine what causes it to happen on this bike and not others, but it's hard to belive ALL tires would do it. My ZR-7 had Dunlop D208s (http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tirecatalog_tire.asp?id=82) and I could ride sideways with a vibe or a noise.

I'm not saying I don't believe you guys - I just don't understand. Can you help me out? Thanks.

I am getting the same noise in my 97 standard....I refused to believe it was the tires until I replaced every bearing on the bike!! The noise is still there and if I change the air pressure in the tires, the noise changes. It is in the tires! You have to remember that the tires on the Valk are Steel Belted Radials! I doubt that many other bikes are using the same makeup in tires as the Valk.

I believe you - I just don't understand why. Is there NO tire that can solve the issue?

..but the Avons stopped it. I have run Avons for the past 35,000 miles and do not have the noise. Just my 2ยข anyway. YMMV
