Does the interstate 8 gallon tank just bolt up to the standard or do you have to do mods?

....and you only have to be sure you have the sending unit hole in the bottom plugged and some added washers on the front mount to raise it enough for proper breathing.

THANKS, I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep my Valkyrie forever or trade it in on what ever brand I buy next. Iffin I keep it, it will HAVE to have a larger tank. I sure been Eyeballing the new BMW K1200 GT......heated grips, heated seat, adjustable seat, adjustable windshield, radios, cruise control........I think Honda may be about to run me off iffin there will be no more Valks.

Digger
I know how you feel. Honda has been falling behind. They are always a day late and a dollar short. Look what Yamaha has been doing in comparison. I'm not sure what the K1200 GT is but I tried out the R1200 RT and was really impressed. It just can't beat the Valkyrie though. I think you'd spend a fortune just taking the Beemer to the shop for all the service requirements. I'll keep the simple, bulletproof, non-computerized Valk.

Mr. Bones,
You wouldn't happen to have some pictures of your tank that you could post do you? Do you like the looks of your tank? Is it proportional to the rest of the bike?

The Beetle bags are a little small. And I tried to get an Ultimate seat but it would not fit the bags it needs a special cut so had to send it back, the tank was on it when I bought it but I heard it runs $1000.

Gas is heavy. Does the tank size significantly change the Valk's wonderful balance/center of gravity.

It has to affect someone that is not use to it for the fact that the center of gravity for the bike is alot further up making the bike much more top heavy. I am small and I can guarantee that I would not be riding a valk today if I had started out with that size of a tank up high.
