I can assure you the weight of th gas does not affect the stability.  I don't know for sure how much gas weighs per gallon but taking water weight as an example it only weighs about 8 pounds a gallon which would be 68 pounds a tank full for 81/2 gallons. Put that versus the 700 pounds of counter weight between your legs and it mean nothing. I rode a 1100 Shadow with a 31/2 gallon tank for 13 years before this and it was alot more top heavy. So be not afraid. And I be only 5'9. And a mere 72 years old.

word of caution if you plan to buy those tank from the manufacturer...make sure you get 100% refund in writing if not satisfied or if it leaks...yes its top heavy when its full...and u notice it when turning slow. worst deal i ever had with a manufacturer.

I have never had a problem with that being top heavy. And here is a site that ran a test on it when it first came out http://www.f6rider.com/GasTank.htmhttp://www.f6rider.com/GasTank.htm Also if you want to talk to the manufactures here is their site http://www.advancedcompositeseng.com/motorcycle.htm so hope this will help. Evidently there was a problem he had but you should still make you choice on all the particulars. I have had no problems at all.
