We're seriously considering selling the '98 Tourer I have and purchasing an Interstate this Spring.  Husband has a Goldwing and we want to go to the CB/Intercom/etc system - money wise, it wouldn't be that big of difference, considering the number of very nice interstates out there for sale on Ebay and CycleTrader.

Has anyone done this - and if so, what differences did you notice.  I can definitely handle my Tourer with no problem - just curious what to expect from something that to me is "bigger" or maybe it isn't but just looks that way because of the fairing and the trunk.

Hope my question isn't too vague.

Thanks for any replies

I believe that if you can handle your tourer the interstate would be no problem for you. To me its a matter of balance not weight, and you seem to have the balance down good.

I just went from a '97 Standard to a '00 Interstate myself...I have had no problem adjusting to the Interstate...if anything, it rides better than the Standard...you'll do fine with an Interstate.

I went from the 97 tourer to the 00 Interstate myself and you don't notice any real differance in handling at all
