Manoman....I don't know how you guys up North stand it not being able to ride in the snow and bad weather.   Here in Houston area the weather has been pretty crappy for the last 2 weeks with extremely high humidity, 40'ish and rainy.   The wife is praying for a good weekend this weekend.....says I'm getting crabby........I need a fix.    Lets see here, internet weather says 60 percent rain Saturday......but Sunday is high of 68 and clear.............that'll work.

It ain't no big deal Digger. I get to ride my Valk from sometime in March until around the end of November or longer if Winter is late arriving. I just find other things to do when it's cold & snowy. I would venture to say that I ride more miles in my limited time than I would if I had the whole year. By the time December gets here, I'm kinda in the mood to park it anyway. I'm 61 yrs. old & ride 10 to 11 thousand miles per year. Been riding since I was 14, I just find other things to fulfill my life. With all that being said..............C'MON SPRING!

Here in NW Ohio I usually add more chrome and do maintenance in the winter.  I have added a car tire, windshield, done the solo look, and more so far this year (99 standard).  I have been able to ride it every few weeks but only for short rides.  Think of it this way.  Because I ride less each year it will actually last longer.  One way to look at it.

Digger,
You are right on the mark! I'm struggling big time. After a killer ice storm last weekend things are just barely getting back to normal, but the ice remains on the side roads. Main roads are finally clear but full of salt and the temps. have been in the teens and twenties. January really spoiled me; I rode almost twice a week but I've only ridden once in February. I added driving lights and hard bags over the off riding days, but I NEED TO RIDE! Enjoy your warmer weather later this weekend!

As I ride pretty much year round. Today was 80 degrees. OK I admits it unusual. Only about 50 to 60 at this time. Our main problem here has been the wind. A 30 mph wind can take the joy right out of it. And Hoosier I can understand your advanced age problems as I be only 73. And riding since I was 12. (Had to get to Work. Things were different then.) But purely enjoy the Valk.

Jack.

Mr. Bones you "Whippersnapper"(LOL), I wasn't referring to my age as a problem(I feel like I'm 45), I only brought it up to point out that I had a few years on a bike & didn't really feel the need to ride everyday. I feel as though the 10,000 to 11,000 miles I ride here in Northern Indiana isn't to bad considering that I don't enjoy hot weather riding. I get most of my miles before July & after the middle of Sept. That's why I don't think I would ride as much if I lived in Texas or Arizona. Just too many months of HOT  temps.

When summer is here and the 120s hit I just stay in my A/C house. Or the close by Casinos. Only a few miles from Laughlin, NV.

60 degrees here yesterday. Got off of work and took mama out to dinner. She won't ride unless it's 60 or above while as long as there isn't sheets of ice on the road I'll get out.

Strange thing is that last Friday coming home it was snowing like crazy and my feet were covered with slush.

We ride when the salt is not coating our streets, so that leaves us with April thru December on average.  After that she gets here blanket and once in awhile a warm jolt of electric to charge up the battery and she sleeps like a bear for the winter, all cozy and snug.

Now that is the life!  Typical Vixen!
