I'm a 56 year old new Valkyrie owner. I just bought a mint condition 2000 Interstate with 6,000 miles on it. (Sold my 2003 Road Star.) The tires are worn and I need to replace them asap. Any tips? How about the car tires I have heard about. What brand and size is recommended. I guess this is rear only right?

I would recommend that you stay with the bike tire for the first set anyway. This will allow you to fully appreciate the great backroad and slow speed handling of the Valkyrie. I am running a car tire rear and really like it, but I did wear out 6 bike tire rears before going to the car tire. My recommendation is for the Avons (1st), Elite IIIs (2nd), and Metz 880s last. Others will have different opinions.shocked

Here's a darkside site with different tire sizes and brands. Oldest entries are first, newer towards the bottom of the page. I now have a thousand miles on mine and am enjoying it more and more. I also have an Interstate.
