Bill,  Thanks for the watch out tip, on other things been added to get the way of a new shield.

Thanks Eddie for all the pictures and leg work, I'm now about 99%
sure mine is a Honda original.   Now to press on

Batman   I have only used a little extra Plexus on the shield and it seemed pretty hopeless at cleaning it up....I may try some car wax and diaper buff and see what it does. . . .(shield seems foggy and also has some spots maybe like a tree sap etching)

Hoser    You seem to like that clearview shield you have,  how long have you had it . . .In your opinion,. . Is it a super shield or maybe just a good bang for the buck.  Would you buy it again ?  Is it a coated shield ?  Do you see the need for one to be coated ?

Thanks again for all your support

The instructions recommend original rain x, the clear liquid, I think is a superior windshield, although the original wasn,t bad, I replaced brcause I had a minor fall down and broke it.

Can someone give me the dimensions of the Hondaline windshield; height and width?  I'm thinking of replacing mine.  I would like one shorter and wider than the one I have.  Is it worth $513 bucks?

Aerosol Pledge and a soft cloth will also take out those swirls on your windshield.

Ive had great luck with JC Whitney.  Even for rebuild parts for clutches on my 84 standard wings.

I have always liked my  windshields since my 76 wing.   Never liked the full fairings as much till this new 1800s.

I did not like my stock valkyrie windshield at the beginning.  Did like the styling.   I made a custom device to change the rake angle and it was OK at best but much better.

With that said I am a function over form person, I ride my bike almost exclusively so I like comfort.   I generally go several months before I use my truck.   Had to recently due to the cat 3 hurricane we just got hit with in the baja a week ago.

I changed my 97 valkyrie to try this new one, it only mounts in two points so you can really change the airflow angle fast or remove it quickly, no tools to do this on the fly.   It is a very small windshield but I consider it to give me better visibility and coverage in many respects.   I have found anytime the windshield is cloer to you it seems much more efficient..       But I no longer hit rain, maybe two to three times a year.      I really like this windshield because I can actually change the angle on the fly to horizontal when I am stuck in traffic or in a city with stoplight traffic on a hot day.   I have tested it to about 100 mph for extended periods.   plus really low cost.  80 bucks

My next favorite that I have on my two 84 standard wings is the  National cycle GT types, have had them for over 10 years and has not clouded to date.    These perform great in the rail, used them in Chicago area for years.
