Well, I thought I was going to join the ranks of a Valkyrie Owner but not to be as of now. Bought a 98 Std. on Ebay listed as "like new" only to find that seller is not in tune with term. Bike was unsafe to ride, I.E. front tire worn out , 1/32 to 1/8 left,. Bike had rust , corrosion, oxidation, rust, that you would not see on a bike listed with 4,200 miles. To top it all off , the seller does not want to return $500 deposit. Bummer.I wish all bikers were HONEST>

You are supposed to have recourse through your credit card company or PayPal...angry

I hate that, you state your side of the story and he states his and Ebay or Paypal decide the outcome. I had a bad experience with a guy using Paypal, claiming I sold him a used XM radio when I listed it as new.

It was new never out of the box. He said it was used and scratched and did not work. I said if it was scratched he scratched it and paypal sided with him. They refunded his money. and charged me. Pissed me off to know end.

He returned it, the package was all damaged and he did scratch it.

I sold the same radio as new a week later and told the new buyer the story. He never complained.

I know your deal is a bigger deal though. Goodluck in getting you $500.00 deposit.

well good news this morning, seller has agreed to refund my deposit less any fees, what ever that means, so waiting and hoping. I guess PayPal was sitting back waiting to see what happened between me and seller. rolleyes

How much did you pay for the bike?  Who was the seller and where were they from.

This would help us avoid the same mistake with this seller

Sorry to hear you are getting had by some con artist.  Like the others said though you do have recourse if you went thru ebay and used paypal or credit card so that is some relief hopefully.

As much as you want to trust someone on there selling things for a big investment you have to go yourself ahead of time or ask someone you might know in that area to check it out or a honda place might just do it.

Or
This is a Family here and we look out for each other...if you post that you need someone to check something out, I am sure one of us who live in that area would GLADLY go and do that just knowing we might need the favor returned but better yet we are gaining another Valk Lover into our VOAI Family.    Remember that.....don't be shy...just ask and you will see how great our membership is......now if in some super remote spot it might be difficult but normally should not be a problem.

There are still alot of them for sale this time of the year so keep looking.  Post a ad in our Classifieds section that your looking maybe someone knows of one and can tell you about it.

Go to the Home Page at    www.valkyrie-owners.com   and over to the left under PRODUCTS click on Classified Ads.

Good Luck!
