You want to see a rough shifting bike go try out a Ural.  No synchronizers at all.  When downshifting you actually have to pull in the clutch and blip the throttle a little bit to get it to shift.  With the Valk don't worry you'll get used to it and not even notice it.

I didn't see your question about synthetics till now, sorry for the delay. I use Amsoil, because I like it, and it is readily available for me. I also have seen some independent tests showing that it is superior to Mobil 1, and some others.
I believe that any synthetic is going to out perform the crude oils no matter what they will tell you.

Where did you get your floorboards?
Do they allow your feet to be  furter forward and outside of the cylinder heads?
