Just purchased a Valk with Corbin Teardrop bags. Need to buy or make something in case I drop the bike. Anyone seen something that might work.

I don't really know what you mean by protect the teardrop bags. I have the Beetle Bags is that what you have? And if you drop it hard there is no protection that I know of.   Huh? Huh?

Same here.  I have the beetle bags too.  I don't think there is anything for the purpose you are looking for unless you design something yourself.  I have 2 Valks and the one with bags I have had since 97.  Just don't drop it!

I have not ridden a motorcycle for 40 years so naturally I had to go out and buy a Valkyrie Touring model. So I dropped it several times doing slow speed exercises. It is well protected so no problem. Then I bought a "Super Valk with these Beetle Bags and no protection that I can see. Thats why I asked.

On the Goldwing there is a "Pipe" (what Honda calls it) in front of the hard bags. That would mount right under the passenger peg on the Valkyrie - if it is a direct fit. That's what I'm looking at doing.

Champion has a bag guard (pipe in Honda speak) that may work pretty good for beetle bags.  The one for their patriot model.
  Check them out at http://www.championsidecars.com/hardbags/getBag.aspx?b=6
