Quite by accident while checking with my new fangled tire gauge the rear tire pressure kept dropping
I switched to plan B MY trusty dial tire pressure gauge and noticed the pressure was down to 35 from 38.
Remembering your suggestion to lower the pressure in increments I decided WTF I will ride to work (sunny high of 80 today - woohoo!)
WHAT A DIFFERENCE I was almost able to track steady in the left part of the lanes all the way thru the sweepers this morning at 75mph. That is a huge improvement and I felt more secure leaning further over on the tire.
Sat is the 1st walk a thon for Alana and her Army, lymphoma (she is now in remission from the Hodgkins) walk in the rain over the Brooklyn Bridge 5K. Here is a pic of Alana and me in Danbury at the last Thor handoff several years ago
We have a ride sunday (looks like monsoon weather too) up to Cold Spring and over to Danbury Ct for the Valhalla Voyage handoff and I believe that will be a great test of the tire, and my cajones.
Anyway thanks for the suggestion my friend

Great picture, Oss...... Tell her I said "Howdy". Keep checking that tire....I like a bit under 30 psi best.

Oss. I too started with higher press. (38 psi) like everyone suggested, Thinking the higher press would round the carcass and act more like a motorcycle tire, It was ok but road harsh. after dropping one pound at a time I found 32 was great for my Good Year tripple tread. handled better. The only thing I noticed on the down side is riding solo, I got little tail wiggle at tripple digit speeds. went back up to 34 and it went away. See you at Keystone!

(97 valkyrie std, Running 205-55-16 Bridgestone potenza-02 started with 34 psi had a twitchy feeling at cruise, Tried 40 psi , a little better, finally went to 28 psi and this is the best so far, not much different from the MC tire & better traction, Won't go back to MC tire.

Congrats on the remission!
I'd love to try a car tire, think I'll do it with the next tire change.

Rodeo1: What do you mean by screw loose? I started at 34, and have worked my way down to 28#. Will run there solo. I weigh 240 or so. I think I will bump it up to 32 when I ride double.
32# will give full weight rating on the tire, which is waaaayyyy above the weight of the rear of the valk. 28# is plenty for the load.
Maybe I misunderstood your comment???

She walked a half marathon just a month after finishing chemo with no training or practice and finished an hour ahead of her mother who had been training for 4 months.
Miss riding with her, she lives in Manhattan now

I was just in Danbury for the last Super Sunday at Marcus Dairy this past Sunday. They also had a big event at Danbury Harley. There were thousands of bikes.

I started at 34 as well. I went down to 28 and it is perfect. I preloaded my spring to 4 so that i did not have to do the nut mod. I only ride solo, and 230lbs full of beer, 198 empty and in both cases 28 works well for me. I have noticed that my front tire is not wearing noticeably more on the left vs. the right as in the past. I have now done 4500 miles on my tire and the back shows NO signs of wear and the front is in much better shape then it would have been in the past with a MC on the back.
