Tonight I had my bike up on the lift and was cleaning the rear rims and noticed a noise when slowly turning the wheel to clean it.  Made the same noise moving backwards or forwards.  It has this sound like some tiny rocks or something are rotating around inside the hub.  I have had the bearings replaced acouple times the last couple of years and since the last time they were changed I would say I don't have 1000 miles on the bike.  The noise always appears at a certain time in the rotation of the tire like on the upswing time then goes away for a second and does it again.  Seems to be more pronounced on the drivers left side more from what I can tell. When riding it lately have not noticed anything weird and I just did a 650 mile ride last week and did not notice any wobble or anything like that.  I'd hate to have it laid up for the Family Reunion and am glad I noticed this now but not sure what could be causing it.  Of course I will have to pull the dang thing off and check it in the 100 degree 100% humidty now.....yikes.

If anyone has noticed this type noise or has an idea of what it might be please share your experiences, appreciate it.

Thanks,

TAZ

yes mine does this, always has. I figure it's the plastic dust shield rubbing on the hub. I was going to investigate this "when I get a roun2it"
It can't be anything bad as my bike just turned 50k.
Today it's raining so I just may get that roun2it ;)
