Hi everyone,

This is my first post on the board, and I have a problem with my motorcycle repair shop.  My clutch on my 99 honda valkyrie needed to be replaced. Apparently one of the disks disintergrated internally and caused it to seize.  Thankfully I was 20 feet from my front door when this happened.

The repair shop has had my valk for going on 7 weeks.  First they needed to order a service manual for it, and now, the other problem they are facing is locating the honda tool to remove the clutch locknut which holds the clutch basket on.  According to my Clymer service manual, page 209, section 16, subsections C and D, it says I need the Honda clutch locknut wrench, part no. 07JMA-MN50100.
This wrench is a round, deep socket, 46MM 12 point wrench.

Apparently the motorcycle repair shop ordered this part number from his snap on supplier and the tool they shipped him was not correct, he says it was a 6 sided tool that did not fit. He says the Clymer manual is wrong.

Does anyone know if the tool mentioned in the manual is the correct tool, and where can I get ahold of one so i can get it to the mechanic so he can finally repair my motorcycle.

Any help would be appreciated.  I bought the bike with 10,000 miles on it and have ridden it to over 65,000 miles in 4 years.  I love her and want her back Sad

Thanks again

Try HDL.  I got the tool for my left fork from them.

MP,

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried there and its a no go...  I find it hard to believe that this tool is so "rare".

Does anyone have any other suggestions, or can confirm that the tool listed in the manual is wrong?

Thanks,

Jim
