You can get one from Pinwall for a lot less money.
Check the blue and green pin connectors on your radio first.

2000 Interstate

Hey Dennisraz,

Are these RCA speakers better than the stock speakers?  I would need 4", right (front and rear)?...I have a 2000 Interstate.
What do you think about adding an amp...they have several at the link you provided?

I would love to get better sound out of the stereo but was pretty much resigned to leaving it as is.  The RCA stuff really makes a difference?

Thanks, Patrick

#1.  Are you positive it is the radio, and not a connection? Have you tried listening with a head set? If it is radio, go the Pinwall route.

#2.  After market speakers are better than OEM.

#3. I believe the front and rear are different sizes?

Yep, the front are 4.5" and rear 4". I bought my rear speakers from J&M and they are both water proof and sound excellent. I think it was about $50 for the pair. There's also a wiring harness made for the IS if you're interested I could dig up a link for you.

As for the amp, there's no reason you couldn't install one. If you do, you'll need aftermarket speakers because the OEM set aren't made to handle the extra watts.

I mostly use my headset speakers and have my cycle speakers turned off. I prefer this because it lets me put in ear plugs to block out wind noise and crank up the headset speakers to listen to music. I know MP does this as well since I stole the idea from him!  Grin
