I have I have small bars that are not quite like drag bars, they have a 4" rise and 6" pullback with 32" width.  I also have 4"risers wiitch give me a comfortable riding position.

I have the Kury grips and the locks that go on the end by Kewlmetal(I think).  I've had this setup for a couple of years and it works fine.  Even with the bars locked, I just put the close bar helmet with the bottom/soft edge next to the tank and I've not had any scratches yet.  I now have a Nolan flip and I had to get hangers that were for the wing and fit the Nolan latch.  As long as I keep the botom of the helmet next to the tank, it doesn't scratch it.  When I'm not in a hurry, I'll use a helmet bag to cover the helmets and leave the bars unlocked and centered.  The helmets will hang and barely touch the tank.  Just make sure which way you have them hanging from the bars.
